The main town connecting Timnath to Eaton via Highway 74, Severance has quadrupled its population from the early 2000's, to now more than 12,000. Severance boasted one of the largest sugar beet operations in the early 1900's but it's current claim to fame is Rocky Mountain oysters.

Severance has separate elementary, middle, and high schools, and is beginning to blend in with Windsor Reservoir to the northwest and Windsor town to the southwest.
